Not sure about traffic conditions one would have to deal with in getting from the North side of Golden Gate to the South side, we have stayed in Half Moon Bay Area & used Bart to see San Francisco. We have always came up from South to get there. There are several RV parks & a state park in the area. RV Park Reviews
I see the 101 & Hwy. 1 merge in the area. Shouldn't be hard to get from the 101 onto the Hwy. 1 to get to Half Moon Bay, but have never driven it.
