Exceed.. is what used to be called Wild Blue, and is NOT, repeat NOT compatible with the RV life style. For more info on this read any thread on Sat Television and LOCAL TV channels... They use SPOT BEAM and low earth orbit birds, these do not have nationwide coverage.
Hughsnet Gen-4.. I very strongly suspect has the same issues.
Original Hughesnet can still be purchased from some value added resellers.. IT works nations wide.. Slow, but effective.
NOTE: When I say "Suspect" It means I do not know for sure, So if you do know for sure... Please correct me. Thank you
Some of this is true but not all. While the services are not considered mobile, they can be relocated if you move infrequently or plan to remain in one location for an extended period where cellular service is not available. The service is spot-beamed but they are not low earth orbit satellites (birds). They are geo-stationary satellites exactly the same as the other satellite internet and satellite TV satellites.
The new Hughesnet G4 and Excede satellite internet service is very good and not comparable to the older services and they are not overloaded (beyond what would be expected for any satellite service). This service also has higher data limits at lower costs that are available with cellular.
Now, if you are actually going to be traveling and need a service that can keep up with you then cellular is likely your best option (unless your travels will be in Canada or Mexico...or AK).
The only current satellite internet services that are available to an RVer on the move is the original Hughesnet service via an HN7000S modem or service from Starband. While these services are pretty slow and more expensive, they do provide the basic internet services where a cellular connection is unavailable or only available in 1X / 2G services.
