This may be antidotal data but after my FIL retired he volunteer @ Whidbey Isl. NAS. When he got his new Cadillac he would take it to the base. As you know NAS is a base for a lot of electronic warfare squadrons. When he would leave the base his On-Star would contact him and inquire if he needed assistance because "they lost communication" with him. Some enlisted personnel told he "yep it happens". Also he may have problems with his automatic door lock/unlocking and to always carry a key.
It might be interesting for you to contact base Public Information and get their take. Don't settle for the standard "it;s not us" answer.
