Satellite TV SET UP

Has anyone used wireless HDMI for their satellite TV? My reception when using satellite on all TVs is snowy but on over there air antenna reception and picture is crystal clear. My Antenna booster is turned off when using satellite. I have dish network or dish on the go. It was recommended to me by gentleman that installed satellites That it will be much easier to use the wireless HDMI system instead of trying to run HDMI cables through the coach walls. If I run an HDMI cable directly from the satellite receiver to a TV it is crystal clear picture. Not sure what is causing this problem but it may be cheaper to use the wireless HDMI system then paying labor rate to try to diagnose it. Give me your thoughts about this and if you’ve had any experience with the wireless HDMI’s in your coaches

You're doing all the stuff I would do. The splitter may be bad, the receiver non-hdmi output could be bad; lots to look at.

Running down bad coax in an RV is not fun...they literally build the RV around the installation.

If it was me, I'd look at the reviews for wireless HDMI (on this thread and places like the WireCutter) and test one. Don't believe any review from Amazon. Leave the coax as is.

    Just my .02.

Yea I agree, I bought a new splitter today and will test it tomorrow, I’ll give update in a few days

  • A little bit more information, my satellite it is mounted on the roof it’s a dumb style, and then the wiring runs to the roof down the wall to the receiver and then using coaxial Cable goes to the splitter box I have turned off the booster button and then the TVs are all connected with the factory cable that runs through the coach to the TVs. When using the satellite hooked up that way the pictures on all three TVs have a snowy picture. If I run directly from the satellite receiver to the TV in the front with a 10 foot HDMI cable to an HDMI port on my TV the picture is crystal clear so from the dome on the roof to the satellite receiver that must work because it does send a signal to the TV that is crystal clear if I use the HDMI cable so my thoughts are from the receiver going through the splitter that’s where the problem lies. My thoughts are to replace the splitter. All connections are tight but yes there could be a bad connection but the problem goes to all three TVs and I’m thinking it could be a bad splitter so I’m going to try that today. Although I did have a satellite installer recommend going to a wireless HDMI system to all three TVs and they do make wireless systems to handle up to four TVs according to him. But I’ll try Replacing the splitter today and see what I get.
  • I have a wireless hdmi from the "living room" to the bedroom. Works great. Picks up the Dish remote and sends it to the hdmi box with no lag. The only downside to the wireless hdmi is that there is only one tv end receiver, apparently by FCC regs.
  • What receiver do you have? And what output are you using to connect to the coax connector on your coach?
  • Im not sure about wireless things in general. For my Dish Tailgater , I use a flat cable thru my kitchen window . You can still close the screen/window and it performs perfectly.

Find it Amazon $9.99 , its the gold and brown cable.

  • Check the cable ends, the ones that screw on the satelite dish and on the tv some times they get loose and the signal is degraded.

  • Booster has no effect on satellite only cable. Maybe a bad HDMI splitter. Or bad cable from dish to receiver.
