When we figure it manually, we ignore the small amount the generator uses. We have an 80gal tank, so when filling 50+ gallons, 1-2 gals from the generator is a small drop in the bucket. We just note GEN in our tracking book to show it was used.
On the SCANGUAGE, you could tweak the fill, but I would try to avoid using the generator on the setup for the MPG function (takes 2 tanks). This way it will calculate the MPG correctly. Most use the fuel usage to calculate the MPG, it just needs to get calibrated so it knows what it's seeing from the vehicles ECM.
