The SG II is quite easy to set up. Just plug in and push the buttons to select gauges or enter fillup info. I used velcro to attach it to the dash and it fell off. I just leave it in the cup holder right now. It helped to talk to the Scan Gauge guy at a GS Rally. He told me about monitoring MPG by using Average and Current and then trying to keep Current as close to Average as possible. I also use the battery monitor sometimes. Only 4 gauges can be displayed at one time but you can switch them around. I like having it as a gadget but it is not essential.
