I am thinking of getting a Scan Gauge for my 08 Fleetwood Gasser are they worth the price?

Do any of those apps allow you to be connected full time and monitor several parameters without any input from you? Just asking for my own education what you have to do with a phone app. Do you have to hold the phone and type in what you want while you are driving or is all of this done automatically and continuously?
