I'm very pleased with my ScanGauge for an entirely different use.
Set to display TPO (throttle position opening)on my 2004 Ford V-10 f53 chassis, it shows exactly when it's about to downshift (76). Then I just press the cruise button down once or more to drop the TPO reading under 76 and it won't downshift. This has proved to be a huge help to prevent constant downshifting and upshifting on some stretches.
On my previous workhorse (chevy) chassis, the gas pedal provided sufficient feel to anticipate downshifting but not so with the F53.
The other parameters I selected to display at the same time are are instant mpg,
average mpg. I must be masochistic.
