I agree the coils are in the back of the fridge - what I'm concerned about is voiding the sealed portion of the box by penetrating it with screw holes - they sealed for a reason.
You're going to screw through a piece of sheet metal and seal that hole with a piece of metal (the screw). I've never seen a frig where the sidewalls weren't simply an insulated part of the box with nothing inside them but insulation. I think there are freezers (like chest freezers) where the sides of the box are cooled by coils in the walls, but that's not what you have. So in my opinion (which has very little experience with refrigeration) I'd probably do it.
