I have a V-10. Just over 51,000 miles and no problems. Both the V-10 and Workhorse motors are good.
People say the Workhorse has more horsepower and torque. That may be. But...IMO, the problem is NOT making the motorhomes "go"....STOPPING the thing is more important.
In the past, there was something about the brakes in the Workhorse chassis. Investigate that and make sure the unit you are interested in has the update/fix.
