I can understand bearing failure with a boat trailer, because sometimes they get submerged in water, and perhaps the owner is not thinking about water getting into the bearings while they park the trailer in the water for 1/2 hour load time. . .
But I did not know that RV trailer bearings had a high enough failure rate to make carrying a spare worthwhile. Does the same problem happen with easy lube axles that can be lubed with the tires still in place? IT seems like if you have good grease, and the bearing is not overloaded or overheating, you should be fine.
