Seattle WA

If you define "near" as less than 10 miles, there are no CGs that close. Lake Pleasant is on a direct bus route with a stop right outside the main gate and is about 14 miles out. The ride into downtown takes about 35 minutes. I think that's an all-day route, not just a commuter run.

Since we lived in Bothell for many years and have adult children living in the area, we haven't stayed there. We moved to Anacortes almost 15 years ago, so our information on the Seattle area is a bit out of date.

Lots of very good recommendations.

To anyone wanting to stay near Seattle, the city is like an hour-glass, with the main downtown area at the choke point. Puget Sound is to the West and Lake Washington is on the East side, severely limiting camping opportunities close to the city.

Staying over near Pouslbo and ridding the ferry could be a memorable experience for a visitor not familiar with these larger "boats". Washington State Ferries are huge with restaurants and parking for over 100 cars. The ride can be an enjoyable experience.

We have stayed at this park 2 times as well and had an enjoyable experience. Close to the Seattle transit hub and this is the way we go to experience the greater Seattle area.

Issaquah Village RV Park is just off I-90. Never been there but we are in the military and moving there in June. Hubby will be working downtown and we will be living in our 36' DP full time. We chose the Issaquah Village RV Park because of the commute. Lake Bothell looked much nicer but the daily commute was going to be worse.

We have 3 cocker spaniels and they said it was no problem.

X-2, Just off I-5, not far from Rapid Transit Station that takes you to Downtown (Plenty of parking at the RTS). A bus stops at the KOA which will take you to the RTS if you don't want to drive. Karen Rosier is the KOA Kent Mgr.

I looked at the Issaquah RV park several years ago, but they would not allow our two indoor cats.
I found a spot near Poulsbo that was very nice. I don't remember the name, but we stayed their for three months.
the ferry ride from Bainbridge Island to the City was rather nice.

KOA in Kent is tight but nice, location is perfect - they do have weekly rate - call them not on their web site - we have stayed there 2 1/2 months on and off over a 5 month period very recently
