Well I'm going to take the plunge and start taking my toad....just bought a blue ox tow bar and it was very easy to attach to the back of my motor home...so I thought if it is that easy to attach some...

Don't need a set, just get 1. The pin you put through the receiver to hold the bar in place, get one that has a key on a black box you attach to the end. No key, the black box doesn't come off, the pin can't be removed.
That sounds good.....heading to PEI in July......and I wanted to do all the safeguards since I'm new to towing.....
You can get the pin at Wal-Mart, it's not very expensive and easy to use.
PEI is great in July and the toad will be very handy. Great seafood restaurant right at the main corner in North Rustico. If you're there for Canada Day (July 1), there is a decorated boat parade and contest in the wharf and a huge fireworks show.
