do the nest cams b’cast continually to the net or only when connected to the app? if continuous that would certainly monopolize any CG’s wifi system.

if the OP has a pair of iphones he could establish a facetime connection between the two and then leave one with the pooch.

I use Nest cam's for my house. We enjoy checking in on the pets from anywhere. It would need to connect to the camps wifi. The cam also has a speaker and we can give them a shout out also. You could also transfer the cam into your house when you get home and use it there for security. It would be a lot cheaper to just get a stand alone Go-Pro and record their activity. Is there something specific your worried about? If their confined to the rig, there's not much to see unless your worried about escape or if their doing damage. I do understand, we love ours the same as children.

Look at the SimpliSafe cameras. But you need an internet connection.

What type internet are you going to have to run it.
