Inside or outside? I've made/carry three different types. The easiest is a inside one that uses suction cups which I made from sunshade cloth and five 2" suction cups. You can buy one for $130 on Ebay like the below.
I made a outside one for really hot direct sun out of the foil material below. By gluing wooden battens into each end with short straps with snaps plus a support in the middle, I can put it on the outside without using a ladder. The center support is a reinforced hole in the material that goes over a screw that I installed below my center clearance light. By rolling it up from both ends to the middle, it's easy to get the hole over the screw when you start to put it on.
I snagged a really good deal on a surplus black outside windshield shade made for my Monaco which included the three side window shades. Instead of using the dozen snaps for the windshield I added wooden battens to it and a short tap in the middle that goes over my middle screw. Like the above, I can put it on without using a ladder. I did use the snaps for the three side windows but the one on the driver's side requires a ladder to put on/off. Hope this helps.
