New or used, I would rather see it before it is "cleaned" up.
If the unit is new, it would tell me a lot about the fit and finish on that particular unit.
If it is used, it tells me about what care the owners provided.
Yes, it would be nice for US to see it that way but it is a terrible and lazy practice for a sales dept. It also probably says a lot about the establishment itself.
