I am trying to sell my 2003 Revolution with 53,000 miles on it. Currently, I have Michelin XZA-3 that have approximately 5,000 miles on them. However, the Manufacture Date is BN1X-2810 (Oct 2010).Per Michelin's website, these tires have a 7 Year / 700,000 / 3-Retread Manufacturer's Limited Casing Warranty.It also identifies, tires that have been in use for 5 years or more should continue to be inspected by a specialist at least annually.These tires do not have in cracks on them and look great.So, my questions to you is:Should I replace all of the tires now and increase the price.Do you think this would provide an additional incentive to a Buyer purchasing a Coach with new tires ?Or negotiate from the existing asking price and offer to have new tires installed after a deposit is secured, possiblysplitting the cost of the new tires with prospective buyer.The estimate I received for Michelin XZE's was $3,973.40.Thanks in advance for you thoughts and feedback.

Yes, it is quite an expense. My opinion (worth $00.00) is that you may lose a bit on money on the deal but you would likely sell it easier and quicker with new tires.

New Michelins would be a negative for me as I would rather put on tires of my choice and they would not be Michelins. Unfortunately people think they have to beat you up on the price so coming off $3K so they can buy new tires would help in the negotiations.

I would just put it up for sale and not discuss the tires...let the buyer ask how old the tires are, and if it becomes a sticking point in the sale, strike a deal with him then. Don't forget everything else in the coach is 15 years old too....the buyer may be worried about something else entirely, he may not care about the tires but want a concession on the refrigerator (for example), who knows? I agree with this. You're selling a used vehicle, and so it's expected that various parts will not be used and may need replacement soon. For sure it would be unethical to mislead a buyer about the age of the tires or their condition, or to sell with a know safety problem that's not being disclosed, but neither of these are in play here. If they ask about the tires, I think it's entirely sufficient to say that they have 5000 miles on them but are about seven years old and leave it at that.

I would guess with the exception of RV'ers who read forums like these and professional drivers most people aren't aware that 5 + year old tires should be inspected yearly or replaced. Most folks would just look at the tread depth, sidewalls for cracks and mileage on the tires (if known) and if all looks good not even give the tires a second thought.

Like others I wouldn't discuss the tires unless asked how old. If it becomes an issue discount the price by $1600-$2000
