We bought our MH after seeing an ad in our local weekly newspaper. It was only 30 miles away. The sellers were the original owners, having to give up the life because of medical complications. At 8 years old, it had only done 12,800 miles. We've put another 5000 on it in 3 seasons.
Unfortunately, it's becoming apparent that we can't afford the lifestyle on old folks' income and it will be even worse if WA State puts another 11 cents on the gas tax. I think it will be on the market in May, after I've had some decent weather to get out and clean the winter side effects off.
Their asking price was quite a bit below KBB and the owner said they'd based it on how much they still owed on the home equity loan they'd used to buy it. We took out an HEL to buy it from them. I haven't done the research in the blue and yellow books yet, so haven't set our asking price.
We'll probably start out using the local paper and see how it goes. There are usually two or three RVs in the classifieds each week.
