I am a Ford fan, especially the turning radius rivaled only by the Sprinter (and I think that is a big deal in a B). The Ford floor plans just did not work for us. From my early days in a gasser then a DP, worrying about service was never a reason not to buy what works. With the Sprinter I think we have more service options than ever before. Not as many as the next Ford or Dodge dealer, but better than locating someone able to work on air brakes!
On edit... I can't help but recall being halfway through the Yukon Territory in our Class A and realizing our house batteries were not charging. My DW asked "now what do we do". I threw on jumper cables and 2 days later stopped the next garage we saw and they replaced the relay. Lesson here is don't sweat the small stuff. :)
