The only reports I've ever seen of the Red Max flaking or peeling were because of it being applied over existing wax. Are you sure that you removed all of the old wax before applying the Red Max?
As for the spots...no clue, unless they were there prior to the Red Max and maybe you just didn't notice them till now?
Mine has now been done for 4 months...no problems at all.
