Has anyone had the RMP on long enough to need/want to refurb, the RMP finish?
What does it take to refinish RMP? Do you have to take it down to 'base',,, and if so, what product removes the RMP?
I have read the posts about how to remove the old wax, etc... But don't remember seeing what it takes to refinish RMP?
Somebody on Fiberglass RV used the stripper to take off a different product and redo it with RMP. It did not hurt the fiberglass surface to use the stripper.
But most of the advice for maintaining the shine is to just put on another coat after a year. I suppose over time that would build up and you would want to strip it and start again though.
This is still in the experimental stage for those foolhardy enough to take the chance that the RV will look MUCH better than with other solutions. I'm willing to experiment on my older vehicle that was starting to show wear on the fiberglass.
I can say that after 6 months at least I don't have any chalky areas that appear to show the fiberglass breaking down and wearing away. I think the shine is a bit less though and maybe the surface is a bit different color of "white" (I can't tell really). But it washes up well, and is NOT dull.
