The length of this thread reveals there is disagreement over this issue.
I agree the transfer switch should work. However I also agree I should not need a whole house surge. But I have one because CG power is volatile with know potential pitfalls
The surge cost $250.00 to give me added insurance unplugging cost me zero.
No I' am not willing to trust RV engineering or the incoming power supply to save me when all I have to do is unplug.
I am never in a scenario where I can't unplug.
Maybe someone can explain to me why unplugging is not possible.
Are you reluctant to just unplug because it is just too inconvenient?
Just unplug and save yourself the potential headache.
If you are feeling like you need to get your money's worth out of your RV and use all the gadgetry. Then take the gamble save a few steps; leave it plugged in! And cross your fingers. If things go bad there is an easy fix available...NOT.
I know better than to gamble on RV: construction, engineering or assembly.
Avoid the potential headache, always take the easy way out vs.counting on quality control, mother nature or any other potential pitfall.
Unplugging is simply the easy way out. No gamble required
