Keyman44,
Waxing the fiberglass roof is one of the best things you can do for it. The sun is the enemy of EVERYTHING! It will tear down even the toughest of surfaces. Some take longer, some shorter for showing wear. This is one of those things that either you've got the gumption, drive, energy, will-power, time, and desire to do, just for your own satisfaction of knowing that your roof is now in the best shape it's going to be in and, you get to inspect it, very closely as you do it.
It's also a pride thing. I've done mine three times in the three years we've owned it. The first time was the hardest because there was silicone and all kinds of other sealers dripped and blobbed all over it. I had to use a high speed buffer with cutting compound to prep it for the wax. But, once that was done and, it was waxed, that top never looked so good, even from the factory, ( I know 'cause I've been there, on the assembly line).
Yep, it's labor, that's for sure. But, once it's done, it's protected and will HOLD less dirt. Who cares who DOESN'T see it, you do and that's the important part. Good luck and, be careful up there.
Scott
P.S. Below is a recent pic of ours, right after polishing. Even flies can't land on without skidding off the runway!
