When we snowbird heat is off, water is off, HW heater is drained and bypassed and RV antifreeze is pumped through the hot and cold water lines. Takes about 2 hours to winterize the house, and about 15 minutes to turn everything back on when we return. If you turn heat off, don't forget soda and water in the closet and products with a lot of water packed in jars and cans. They'll freeze and burst too, and a month or two old mess to clean up isn't pretty or fun to come home to.
