Should you select a motorhome on washer/Dryer?

I gave my wife a floorpan of a Tiffin Allegro 36LA and Newmar Canyon Star 3710 both are bath and a half and 38' in length. The plans are very similar with center salon but she chose the Newmar because it has a stackable washer & Dryer in a cabinet by the kitchen. The Tiffin has a combo washer/dryer in a cabinet under the countertop in the master bath.

Most agree that the Tiffin and Newmar are the top gassers but should we really choose a motorhome based on the washer and dryer?
  • Best thing about the combo unit is you can start it and walk away. No need to sit and wait for washer to finish and switch loads. In Europe there are tons of combo units in the sticks and bricks homes.

Ps Tiffin rear bath has much more room to move around and actually dry off after having a shower. Try turning around in the Newmar bath. Oh yes and no counter space either.
Also has an extra reclining chair in living area where Newmar places the stackables.

X2 Had both the stacked are much better

I would disagree about gassers - My Winnebago gasser was great
  • Tiffin has one black tank dump station and the Newmar has two dump stations. My wife doesn't know or care about that, but I do!

So you really give up that much with a combo? If its that bad it makes one wonder why a coach builder would use them? If I owned a company I wouldn't want to lose business over a combo washer/dryer!
  • The Canyon Star is a good motorhome from a quality manufacture. If the wife likes the motorhome AND it houses the washer / dryer that she will use, then I fail to see the question.
