I installed one this summer and do like it. The problem I have is when I shut it off and it goes to trickle the water goes cold. I played with different settings of the hot/cold volume but it still goes cold. When I reopen the shut off valve it goes to the setting where the temp. was set. Any ideas?

If I had to guess, I bet you have a water mixing valve on the water heater. When you shut the water conservation valve on the shower head, it does not allow for proper water flow to allow the mixing valve to regulate the temperature properly, and therefore going cold. When you open the conservation valve to normal flow, the mixing will have enough flow to then regulate the temperature properly. Additionally, the cold water line to the shower has less restriction than the hot water. When the flow is real low, as in the trickle you get when you close the conservation valve, more cold water will pass through than hot and therefore making the water coming down the trickle to be colder. Hopefully this makes some sense.
