I have a 2016 Newmar ventana. I do not like the side cameras and prefer to see the towed vehicle when making a turn. Is there a way to disable the side cameras without pulling wires from the back? I have a voyager system. Thanks to all

I would think more before disabling the side cameras. I use my mirrors to watch the toad during turns. The side cameras make it much safer and easier to see vehicles coming up on either side of you.

I wouldn't disable them, but don't rely on them. We ran across 2 people with major damage on the side that relied on those side cameras, and said they wont do that anymore!No harm to leave them as is

I have a Voyager three camera system and by going through the "menu" on the monitor I believe that you can disable any of the cameras. My side cameras ONLY come on when I turn on the turn signals. Until then, the ONLY thing I see on my monitor is the rear camera view.

I, too, would think that once you are making your turn, you will see the toad better in the mirrors vs. the rear camera. When I first start off in the mornings, I check that the tires are rolling on the Honda when I make my first turn through the side mirrors (usually when pulling out of the RV site). You can't see the tires through the rear camera. What are you wanting to see through the rear camera that is more important than the side camera and side view mirrors? The toad is going to follow you no matter what.You don't have your toad listed in your signature so if you have an unusual set-up, we are wondering.Just curious. Safe travels,MM.

I assume the Op wants to turn on his turn signs and still see the rear view in his monitor not have it automatically switch to the side view camera. Personally I wouldn't do this as there is nothing to see in the std rear view other than the front of the toad. That said wouldn't disconnecting the turn signal wires to the system accomplish that? don't disconnect the Cameras themselves . That stops the automatic transfer of the monitor to the side cameras and still leaves them avail via the monitor controls. The system I have can't be disabled if the turn signals are wired into the loop.

I cut the trigger wires and put a switch. Now I can see my toad take a turn. Also. It helps to see the toad clear on lane changes. The camera mirrors are useless. Sometimes the sun blinds them. I did this 6 years ago. These builders need to add cameras at the rear lower to check on the toads tires.

Oh I love my side cameras! They actually have a better view them my mirrors, but I would like to keep one monitor on the rear 100 percent of the time.

No, you are not in the minority, I had them installed during the build of our new coach. Liberty doesn't normally install side camera's. I like 'em! :)

The reason is, I can turn on the camera system and see around the coach at night through the side and rear camera's on all the TV's. The side camera's have 'night vision' capability (works pretty good). At night, there is a circle of red lights around the camera that illuminate.

On Edit: Liberty now offers complete 'bird's eye' view of the coach from camera's mounted at the roofline (front, sides and rear).

I guess we are in the minority. I had side cameras installed when I replaced the rear camera system and I love them. They let me see the blind spot on the passenger side when I signal. I use both the mirrors and the cameras.

Just tried the (menu) (mirror) (skip) that rjatijnet1 suggested and the icon skip is not part of the menu. The only options I have are (normal) and (mirror) Thanks

I agree, never use my side cameras and use the center camera to watch the toad. I would not bother to disconnect them, if for some reason you need them, they'll still be there.

After reading this, I think I'm going to rewire mine so the upper screen is fixed on the rear camera, and let the turn camera take over the lower radio screen, that way I can see the Jeep from the rear camera in turns.
