Sleeping on back roads?

There are a lot of varied opinions. Here in Austin, especially on SXSW and other busy weekends, overnighting gets abused, so people get annoyed and stay annoyed at RV-ers. For example, last year there were people who would park in people's driveways, using their electric and water, then tell the homeowner where to stick it when asked to leave. When the police came, they just moved a block away and parked in another person's driveway. So, this has left a bad taste in peoples' mouths who never had any previous experience with RV-ers.

This has happened in California too, and with a lot of people there only having experience with the RV-ers doing this, compounded with storm drains smelling of black water, it is understandable how local areas passed no overnighting, or even no RV parking ordinances.
