Firstly who made the thing and POWERGEAR or LIPPERT maybe? I think you're saying the big gear that is part of the main slide mechanism and not the small motor gearbox, which is usually sealed with screws in the cover. Most all my POWERGEAR stuff is in the basement under the slide.
