Slide gear losing teeth
Slide Gear that attaches to motor electric that operates the slide loosing teeth causing the slide to start stop and bang. I can feel the gear and the missing teeth but can't see it. Is it a big job ...

If you have 2 or 3 gear tracks (racks) on each end of the slide you probably have a Lippert slide. You will have to go to the coach builder or Lippert to get the racks and it will probably take a couple of weeks. You will probably also need a couple guys who are well equipped with RV tools and know what they are doing to install them.
Look closely at the teeth and see if they were fully engaged or just the tops were. From what I have heard most of the issues have been from not having enough tooth engagement which greatly accelerates wear and needs to be corrected by putting shims behind the rack.
