Update: It's not working again.
The "lock" and "unlock" buttons do nothing. Normally when it is locked, the "locked" LED will light up, but that's not working either. The slide motor wants to work. In the past, I have been able to get the locking arm (HWH Travel Clamp) to work by pushing the retract button first, even though the slide is fully retracted. This no longer works.
I tried contacting Fleetwood. First via phone. They were stumped and asked me to sen them pictures, which I did. Then after no initial reply I sent a follow-up email. They just sent me a bunch of wiring diagrams (8 or so) for the different slides that are on Fleetwood RVs. None of which contained anything about the travel clamp. I told this this didn't really help and asked if they had any info on the actual locking mechanism. They replied, "Sorry, we're not RV techs". Thanks...
Now I'm tempted to just take the thing apart and not use it. Seems a lot easier than trying to troubleshoot it at this point. It also seems to me that the slide lock bars that go on the top of the slide would cause me a lot less grief, and cost less money (and time) than taking it to a dealership.
You state HWH. I thought you stated it was Powergear Slide mechanism? If HWH it will state that on the Button pad assbly unless you have the hybrid Fleetwood system. Doug
This is the first generation HWH from the mid 2005 and up a few years.
It uses a Magnetic switch to determine when the slide locks and room is retracted or extended. This link is for Fleetwoods where they did not use the HWH slide system.
