I had that problem with a fifth wheel it would equalize but it ended up braking a stud in the wall. I took it to a repair shop suggested by the manufacturer. They told me that one cylinder needed to be rebuilt. I was able to remove some paneling on the inside and replaced the 2x2 stud with a 2x4 on its side reinforced with an angle iron. While I was working on it a fellow came along and wanted to buy the FW and I told him I needed to fix the cylinder and he said "I can fix anything". We agreed on a cash price and I took it to his site. And I never saw it again.
