Slide Squeaking while driving

I noticed on the last couple of trips that there is a squeaking noise coming from the area of the slide in our living area. My wife was with me this last time and she was able to trace it back to one end of the slide (away from the driver). To me it sounds like maybe the rubber seal against the side of the slide out that is the exterior fiberglass side. We didn't notice it on our first trip, but my wife was with me then and either her or my daughter was sitting in the dintette that is at that end of the slide. It only happens on really bumpy roads. I'm gonna take it in probably sometime next week to have them look at it.

Any ideas from you guys here?

  • Spray silicone on the slide seals that seal against the side of the MH. Our van does this on the two sliding doors. Spray it with Jig-a-Loo and the noise is gone. Before the nay Sayers jump in.... This is one of the uses listed on the can as well as many other silicone sprays.
  • I see you have a Chateau 31L which uses Schwintek slide-out mechanisms. You might want to dry putting dry lube on the slide rails. Lippert recommends the use of a dry lube on them. The mechanisms have a gear at the bottom and top on each end of the slide.
