Slides and Driver Seat Position

How many have a slide on street side/drivers side and when the slide is in do you have enough room for the drivers seat to move back.

Found a deal on MH with a slide BUT with the slide in I was totally cramped for room. Killed the deal...

We had looked at other Brands of MH's that had slides drivers side and same thing with the drivers seat NO room to slide back.

Not trying to start a slide no slide thread , just questioning about leg room with a slide..

  • Our Phoenix Cruiser has a slide and the drivers seat all the way back with the slide in leaves enough remaining room behind the seat to store some stuff in boxes. So, absolutely no problem and plenty of room to spare.

Take a look at the floor plans schematics and you will see what I mean. In the drawings the slide is out but you can clearly see how much room remains when it is retracted.

  • My '08 Aspect 26A has almost a foot of room behind the driver's seat when the slideout is in. I can put the seat all the way back and still recline the seatback. The Aspect Cambria comes in lengths from 24' to 30' so others may not have as much room.
  • Yes Aspect and Csmbria same thing.
Maybe some year models have the problem.
    Probably the shorter MH.
  • My 09 Cambria has a slide and does not interfere with the seat adjustment, I actually store soft items between my seat and the slide.
  • Isn't the Aspect same thing as the Cambria (spelling) We tried to test drive one of those 2006 and same thing tight fit !

Bingo that's me 5'11 , I could no way drive one of theses rigs with a slide all cramped up, my knees were practically touching the steering wheel ! Not to mention my arms were barely stretched out at all to reach the steering wheel..

  • With the slides in, our driver's and passenger chairs go back far enough for us (not that we're the tallest hobbits in the shire).

We just have to remember to make sure they're not reclined too far when we move the slides or the seat backs will be in the way.
