Slow...Clogged shower drain

Our shower drain is slowing down... Is it safe to use a liquid drain cleaner in a motorhome.?

  • Hi rustell from denny and ida, we have a 2004 granite ridge with the same problem. I was thinking that I didn't have the home level. after several camping trips and several showers I also was thinking about drano. Please let us know what you found. see you on the road,Denny and ida
  • Take a metal coat hanger cut the sraight lenght bend a loop on one end and a small 90 degree on the other end, now you have a drain hair ball cleanning tool, long enough to reach deep down.

Drain cleaner may damage the seals at the other end of the system, the slide valces, end result is they will statrt to leak and then you have to replace them, my tool cost a little time and no sweat.

  • If it was me, in would jet it out using garden hose and spray nozzle. I would thing that would force clogged debris into the tank.
  • My bet is that you probably have a "hair ball" problem. Only one fix I know of is to dig it out with a tool not unlike dental type of pick. Messy job but somebody has to do it! :B
