Look for "Garage" models which have a space sized to hold several bicycles or even a couple of small off-road motorcycles. Your telescope packages would go easily into that type of space.
I've seen these in C motorhomes and 30-32 foot A gassers. The space is usually under an elevated queen bed, sometimes beyond the end of the chasis frame rails, with the house frame built lower than the chassis rails to create the space. I know Coachmen or Fourwinds had one when I was looking in 2004-5, would have been Mirada or Hurricane, and model was something like 30Q or 30QB.
There are garage models in C motorhomes where the storage space is actually interior, with exterior access. Often sized to a bicycle or two, the space is alternatively bunks when the bulky load is removed.
