After years of tent camping, we bought our 24 ft Class C back in 2003. We think it is the perfect size for the two of us, although we have slept 3 or 4 persons a few times. It does get crowded inside with 4 people when our one slide is in. We wouldn't be without the slide. It makes a huge difference.
I looked at the floor plan for the Coachmen 21qb at their website. Several concerns I have - none of which may be of concern to you.
- the 21qb is on the Ford E350 chassis, which has a GVWR of 12,500 lbs. The CCC for this unit could be an issue, although the lack of a slide saves some of the empty weight.
- The grey and black tanks are small at 25 and 22 gallons. Not a problem if you always camp with hookups, but water conservation will be important if you do much dry camping.
- The only place to sit in the living area is the U-shaped dinette. Seems like that would get old for 4 people very quickly. Also, the TV is located in the cab over. Have to wonder whether 4 people could comfortably watch from the U-shaped dinette on those rainy days.
