This is great guys! Keep it coming!
I was worried about the fact that the swing-over TV isn't operational while we're riding down the road, but hubby remindind me that the kids prefer the ipads/ipods as far as watchig movies or playing games. Seating/confinement on rainy days will be an issue. Sadly, if it's pouring more than 24 hours, hubby is of the opinion that we unplug and go home. LOL. Anything less than 4* is roughing it to him. However in such a small unit I might be inclined to agree with him.
The small holding tanks will be an adjustment. Frankly, I'd give up some (a lot) of the 50 gallon fresh tank in exchange for more black/gray. We have yet to camp anywhere without full hookups. It's one of the hubby's many requirements. I think we could manage just fine for 1-2 days on 22/25 tanks (Just me and the 2 kids...hubby won't be joining us if we dry camp! LOL!). Definitely things to consider though.
Still have the 6 gallon water heater...that's all we have now and that's all the diesel pusher had. So we will still be OK there.
I'd love to have a born free, lazy daze or phoenix (or anything better built than a coachman!). Lazy daze doesn't have a floorplan I like, although they may build to suit.
We actually just looked at a B+ and while it was built a lot nicer (cabinets, light fixtures, countertops and floor materials, etc.) it made me realize I must have the sleeping/storage space over the cab, and also the storage outside.
I did convert the dinette to the bed and it's short and narrow for sure. Definitely for the 10 and under crowd in my opinion. However, I was shocked when I crawled into the cab bed. The corner bed is 60x80, and the cab is 57x95...shockingly spacious.
I can already tell the corner bed will be a pain to change sheets on, but I've already got the sleep sack travel sheets which solve that problem (like a queen size sleeping bag made of sheet material that you put on top of the bed). Easy to wash and replace, and toss in the storage compartment when not in use to keep the bed looking like the brochure! LOL I'll probably be buying another for the top bunk, althogh I have a couple twin size ones that will work for now...each kid can use their own. I wish I was handy with a sewing machine...I'd make my own and save a lot of money, but they're worth the investment for me for ease of making camping beds and washing!
I also stood in the shower...it's definitely not roomy. I'll need to make up my mind which way I want to face before I climb in! But, it's certainly workable and again, every place we've been has bath houses if I decide I can't stand it.
Forgot to check and see if it comes with a spare tire! I don't remember seeing one!
What else...microwave is small but I can work with that. Fridge is also very small but again, it's a small motorhome, everything is downsized! Plenty of room for coolers in the storage compartments.
To address the seating, I may invest in one of those swivel jobs to make the passenger seat swivel around when not driving. Will have to take some measurements and see how well that will work, but it might add another useable seat. Won't be able to see the TV but I usually don't care to watch yet another episode of Scooby Doo!
Sinks are very small too. It's ok though, I do most of my dishwashing in tubs outside since I cook outside, and just funnel the gray water into our sewer pipe. Our diesel pusher had a residential size sink, but I learned the hard way letting a pan soak overnight stunk up the house! Better to let it soak outside, and much easier to wash and scrub in a bigger rubbermaid tub, with another to rinse.
The biggest thing I'm reluctant to give up is our outside kitchen, but even that can be replaced. I just need a way for the kids to wash their hands outside (without tracking dirt and bugs into the camper!). The mini fridge, well we will be doing without that, but a cooler can hold those drinks just fine. No more popsicles in the outside freezer though. Boo!
