That Smart is probably the only car short enough to carry sideways. Did that Allegro Bus with the Smart on a lift, have a tag axle?
A red semi tractor came into the campground towing a big fifth wheel. It had a frame long enough to haul the fiver AND a Smart. The Smart was crossways on the tractor right behind the cab. They had aluminum ramps tucked away someplace and backed the Smart down from the passenger side of the tractor. Pretty neat! I believe that particular Smart was a diesel.
I don't remember if the Allegro had a tag axle or not. Here's another rig, without a tag axle, hauling a RZR that probably weighs close to a smart car. Note they're also pulling a toad or something. These pictures were taken in Quartzite - a good place to see anything.

And then in Tombstone we saw this. The Samari was narrow enough to allow him to carry a dirt bike on both sides of it. It was very interesting talking to him. I think he said he had over $60K several years ago into a pick-up truck he used previously and still wasn't happy with it. He dumped it and now has less than $50K into a tractor with more power, better brakes, more storage, other modifications and the Samari.
