"diamonddogdogs".....The Workhorse chassis has about a 6" hole on the top of the tank. It has a plate that twist locks into that hole. The plate contains all of the fuel line connections, including the GENERATOR line. Most likely, the hoses are going bad. You said the tank was full, so it's sloshing out the top of the tank where the generator hose has probably rotted away.....thus no generator operation.
When Workhorse was selling RV chassis', they inserted a small, about one gallon can, into that opening on the top of the tank. It carried just enough fuel so that the chassis could be driven around before the coach body was added. Once they were ready to add the body, they pulled the can. I know all of this because my 2004 Terra puked fuel every time you filled the tank. They had inserted the plate (twist ring with all the hoses) crooked and it never sealed. They had to drop the tank and reset the plate.
I'm guessing they will have to drop the tank on your friend's coach to replace ALL the fuel hoses. I was able to stick my head up between the frame rails and see the top of the tank leaking. Hard to do, but can be done.
