Smoke odod in the coach

Went camping at Devils Lake at Lincoln City Oregon. I was taking the grand kids fishing and told everyone to keep the door closed on the MH so the smoke from the camp fire doesn't get in. When I got back the door was open and the MH wreaked of camp fire, and was full of smoke. The smoke alarm had been disabled, and was laying on the table. I was not a happy camper at this point!

I have had all the vents, and widows open, and a fan running in it since I got home, but the the camp fire odor is still terrible after three days. Does anyone have a idea on how to get the smell out of my MH?
  • Give it a little time. It will go away by itself. Sadly ours airs out completely after a few weeks. I like the smell of the campfire. But it just doesn't last.

A small ozone generator will do the job. Be sure to follow the instructions.

X2 Ozone generators can be rented at tool rental shops. Ozone generators are what home restorers use after a house fire to eliminate smoke and stale water odors, etc.
  • If you leave the coach open it will air out in a few days. Or at least ours always has. If not then the ozone generator will do the trick (you cant rent them).
    Good luck,

  • I have to agree with the coffee grounds.

I inherited a pick up truck from a heavy smoker and after many attempts to clean it to get the smoke smell out of it with no luck. I heard of the coffee remedy. Sprinkled a generous amount in the floor boards and under the seats, closed it up for a week then vacuumed it up.

I have to admit it took 2 applications, it was really bad, but it worked.
  • We bought a car that reeked of cigarette smoke. The dealership had covered up the odor....3 days later it was horrible! We were advised to put a bowl of white vinegar in the car. We did that for a month, removing it when we went anywhere. Within the month the odor was completely gone. Four years later, the car still has no smoke odor.
