Go look to see if you can even put chains on your RV. Many body styles are so low over the rear wheels, chains are impossible to install. I can see why a person carries them, to meet the letter fo the law. You'd need to, where I live. But as for actually putting on? Not on my first RV. And, just because someone says they do...doesn't mean that they really really do, out on the highway, in traffic, in snow.
If you are caught in a situation..or are approaching one, you are far better off to park and wait it out. No damage to rig and no risk to you.
