  • I wouldn't worry until the Nat'l Weather Service issues a "Hard Freeze" warning. Currently, 12/31, only the San Bernardino high desert, Clark & Nye Counties NV. are the areas of concern.

  • Probably no need but if you're concerned just set the thermostat for 65-70 and ride it out. As was said, MH all have the plumbing buried in bays so it takes quite awhile freeze anything.

Pretty much a good answer. Yep, there's some spritz's of snow in many parts of the southwest today that haven't seen snow for decades. We're here in Lake Havasu and, it's actually quite amazing to see such a desert town, at such a low elevation, have so much of the white stuff stuck on roofs, vehicles, plants, telephone poles, stop signs and much, much more.

But, in all reality, no, you really don't need to run out and "winterize" your RV in San Diego. The temp weather is not going to hang around long. We moved from there 8 months ago and, the snow is just stopping by, but will head out rather shortly.

  • No need to winterize. Turn the heater on and open all the cabinet doors where ever there is piping. If possible add a small heater to the plumbing bay.

I am currently in Hesperia and we had snow last night. Temps were 29 this morning but nothing froze including the water hose.
  • What elevation are you at? I lived in Escondido in the 60's and woke up to 6" of snow one morning. Currently living in our motor home in NE North Dakota while new house is being built. Has been down to as low a -14F over night. We plan on heading to the southwest January 11th. Sunday is forcast to be -27F over night.
  • We are just north of you in Temecula and have a few inches of snow too. I've been checking the temps the last few days but it hasn't been below 34* and goes back up into the 50's so it should be ok. Having said that, I'll probably go check my trailer anyway.
