SNOWBIRD

To all you snowbirds (or RVer's that are away from home for extended periods of time). When you are away from your stationary home do you have friends, neighbors or relatives look after your place? What if you don't have any of those close to do it?

Some will say we should not to give the bad guys even more info on how to hit our house.
Like grand kids... this is another reason why I am glad I did not kill my teenagers (when teaching them how to shoot) who now lives next door and prefers a shotgun over a 357. Also with several of these you can watch what's happening when motion is detected.
  • Notify police that we will be gone, family member(s) periodically check inside.
  • Also, contact your local police department. They usually do house checks.

They won't go inside but, will walk around the house and check for a break in or other damage.

It's an option, and better than nothing, if you don't have anyone nearby who can check the house for you.
  • We just lock up and leave. Without being asked, there are people that do keep an eye on our place when we're gone. We have good neighbors and friends that just take that on themselves.
