and some do essentially the same thing with just hinging the upper bunk so it can be pushed up against the wall.
Lance does that as did one Evergreen model. lots of small TTs did this to make a larger storage area with the bunk raised.

It does sort of look overly complicated to work well for an RV. I would think that a simple arrangement where the back of a sofa, mounted to the coach wall, would just rotate up and lock into place, would be more space efficient and more sturdy than this bunk bed conversion. The problem comes with windows in an RV. If there are no windows by the couch, it is not a problem, but most coaches have a window behind the sofa to enjoy the scenery.

Glad a few of you looked it over -- what I would hope is that the IDEA is picked up by, say, Flex Steel and it is Sized and adapted to the RV world. 15 years ago when we designed the perfect Coach we did not have Grand-kids, otherwise we would have designed a better sleeping arrangement in our present Coach. Just seems that with a Little work this would FIT, and it would surely function well for two -- My next issue is I now have 6, so we need to tighten up the spaces and make it a three tier set of Bunks! (otherwise I'l be shopping for a tour Bus)

Maybe supported on outer edge by ladder. IKEA does stuff like that, but not on a convertible, at least nothing they sold here as of September.
