Soft shoulder stuck

Yesterday about an hour west of Whitehorse Yukon, we saw a brown bear and stopped to look and photo. As I pulled to the shoulder the right wheel sunk to the axel. Unhooked the toad and backed it out without damage to hydraulic jacks or front end cap. The shoulder did look in excellent condition but it was porous do to ground squirrel burrows.
Backing out assured that the rear wheels stayed on firm ground and the sunk wheel tracked well. Trying to drive it out going forward would have made it worse

Be careful on gravel roads, especially if high standing water adjoining road. Went over to check our duck club, water was high and had been for several days. Perimeter of road was very soft 3 feet in on both sides. Sank in just walking.
