Solar panels definitely work if you have the correct amount and the correct batteries. Over the past 16 years of full-timing we've used solar and boondocked/dry camped 90% of the time. We ran everything, including the microwave on solar. However, not the air conditioner but being full-timers we could easily move to cooler temps! If you Google you'll find the ways to calculate what you really need for your RV. It can be done.
