We just did the same thing, going from a 2011 Tour 42QD to a HR Vacationer 36DBT. The main motivation was the license and insurance costs were running $7400/year and now they're less than half of that. We floor plan that includes a half bath, washer & dryer and good living room space. After a couple of trips, we're happy with the move.
Of course, the downsides are known. The ride is rougher and there is a lot of engine noise when climbing or descending. Those items are pretty minor and we knew that going in. The coach drives well and it fits our use.
