We had a 2014 Ford E-450 gas class c. The factors that caused us to trade it in for a 2014 Thor Palazzo 33.3 rather than a gas coach really boiled down to towing capacity. Many of the F53 chassis based class A motorhomes have 26,000# GVWR just like the Palazzo. However, the tow rating killed it for us 10,000# for the Palazzo and 5,000# for the F53. We have a Tahoe which has a listed weight of 5,500 and an actual curb weight of 6,000#. The DW really didn't like the noise and heat from the V10 in between us. We had that problem with our E-450. After thousands of dollars of "fixes" which included Hushmat over the entire cab floor and doghouse as well as other items we could at least carry on a conversation. When we test drove the Palazzo it was night and day. The ride was fantastic and the noise was minimal. Another thing we noticed was the F53 has a maximum fuel capacity of 80 gallons which gives you a realistic range of about 400 - 500 miles at max. The Palazzo has a 90 gallon fuel tank and has a fuel range of 800 - 1,000 miles. This is very common for diesel motorhomes. All that said we would have ended up with a F53 if they had the tow rating and payload we needed.
