P&C, hope selling was not for medical reasons? I always advise that you need to use an expensive MH at least 100+ days a year to average down the real costs. Thankfully we are able to use our,s closer to 150. 9 years ago I had to buy a slightly used DP to get 4 slides, but I knew I,d be able to keep it a long long time. Like you I believe in paying cash for toys and fortunately doing all repairs and maintenance myself helps on the costs. Even so, this is not a cheap sport, but having a condo on wheels is better than owning several around the country plus hard to find them where I like to boondocks.
My costs are greater than yours as both the depreciation and insurance are higher. Maybe now that the depreciation is less I can get down to less than $12k/year. Thanks for posting and starting this needed discusion.
